Dog poisoning: Some half a dozen dogs were killed by strychnine, in the northwest part of town, day before yesterday. Of course the distributor of the poison is unknown to the owners of the dogs.

In the foot hills on the East of Carson Valley is a most suitable place for making a reservoir for the storage of water. Two ranges of hills form a large basin which catches the water from the mountains many miles distant and finds an outlet between two high bluffs. It would simply require a little enterprise and capital to make a success of such a scheme.

Creamery company will sink well: The Carson Creamery Company will in a few days begin sinking an artesian well on its property just north of the railroad track. The creamery uses a large amount of water, especially since it began pasteurize get its cream. Other improvements are contemplated, among which is a refrigerating plant.

Two corporations capitalized at $1,000,000 each, a motion picture company, and a Las Vegas ranch operated by ex-movie cowboy Hoot Gibson, were among 28 concerns filing articles of incorporation in the last three weeks, Secretary of State John Koontz announced on Thursday.

Carson City Mayor James Y. (Jim) Robertson filed today for re-election to a second term in the May municipal election. “Most important is to bring to a successful conclusion the consolidation of governments of Carson City and Ormsby County,” he said.
