Actors, singers, and dancers in grades K-12 are sought for Youth Theatre Carson City’s production of “Into the Woods, Jr.”

The show will run for six performances from July 28 through Aug. 6 in the Bob Boldrick Theater inside the Carson City Community Center.

The script includes classic fairy tale characters including Little Red Riding Hood, Cinderella, Jack (the one with the Beanstalk), and a wicked witch.

The musical centers on a baker and his wife, who wish to have a child; Cinderella, who wishes to attend the King’s festival; and Jack, who wishes his cow would give milk. When the baker and his wife learn that they cannot have a child because of a witch’s curse, the two set off on a journey to break the curse and wind up changed forever.

Auditions will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Community Center. Auditioners are asked to prepare a one-minute song and be prepared to learn pieces from the show.
