A journalist from Denmark is stopping in Silver City on his fourth trip across the United States.

Peter Krogh Andersen will be a guest of Silver City’s Resident Artist Program next month.

He travels across the country interviewing Americans about the presidential election, health care and other issues facing the nation.

His work is published in the Danish newspaper Kristeligt Dagblad and on his website, “A Dane Passed By,” at https://adanepassedby.com/.

In September of last year, the journalist covered the three-day free dental, medical and vision clinic by Remote Area Medical (RAM) in Silver Springs. Find the article, with film and photos, at http://www.dr.dk/nyheder/webdok/ram.

In late March he will offer a talk in Silver City with a slide show of photos from his trips, followed by questions and answers and discussion with the audience. The time and date is yet undecided, but keep up to date by finding “Resident Artist Program in Silver City Nevada” on Facebook.

The Resident Artist program offers guest artists housing for periods of up to four months, in exchange for offering public performances, exhibitions, workshops, art work, etc. in the Northern Nevada region.

Past Residents have included multidisciplinary artist Brian Schorn of Michigan, New Zealand printmaker Sophie Scott, internationally known photographer Frances Melhop, Oakland- based writer and artist Scott MacLeod, London-based artists Stewart Easton and Claire Scully, former Utah poet laureate David Lee, dancer Jessica Sanford of Earlham College, etc. During 2017, poet David Lee and artist Sophie Scott will return, along with new Residents such Sue Mark and Bruce Douglas, who form a cultural research team called Marksearch. Sue has a MFA in art and a BA in linguistics and philosophy, and Bruce is a fabricator and mechanical engineer.

Artists have been scheduled through Winter of 2017, and additional applications are being accepted for later dates. Contact Quest Lakes at P.O. Box 123, Silver City, Nevada 89428 or 775-847-0742 for information.
