One man is in custody following a car chase that ended just north of Carson City on Thursday.
Around 10:15 a.m., Nevada Highway Patrol troopers attempted to stop a vehicle in Washoe Valley, after callers reported a man hitting a female passenger in the vehicle. When troopers attempted to stop the vehicle, the suspect fled.
Carson City deputies were dispatched to attempt to locate the vehicle as it approached Carson City. The suspect stopped near the Franktown Road area and attempted to flee on foot, but was apprehended by troopers.
Ambulances were dispatched to the scene for minor injuries for a trooper and the suspect after the pair attempted to jump a barbed wire fence, authorities said.
