FALLON — The Fallon Greenwave broke their string of losses Friday with a 59-47 win against the Dayton Dust Devils.
Fallon took the lead early and held it all four quarters. Dayton edged onto the board, but had a ways to catch up with the first quarter ending 16-4. In the second quarter both teams played a hard defense and offense. The Dust Devils started catching up to the Greenwave, but at the half trailed 26-16.
Dayton continued to advance after halftime, outpacing the Fallon defense and closing to four points; going into the final quarter, the score was 34-30 to Fallon. In the fourth quarter, both teams gave it everything; the players flew across the court, turning over free throws as they fought for the ball. Dayton closed to two points, but the Greenwave pushed back hard and opened the score to a 12-point lead by the final buzzer.
Jonathan Ply led the Dust Devils with 15 points from 11 free throws. Trevor Burrows was just behind him with 14 points from two treys and six free throws. Brenden Thomas scored eight points while Chase Peterson and Weston Hill tallied 3, and Blake Fletcher and Carson Crosby two.

Fallon’s Lady Wave claimed a decisive win against Dayton Friday, ending their second encounter of the season 67-18.
The Wave came out strong from the start, quickly climbing into the lead. Dayton broke through late in the quarter, getting on the board to close the quarter 30-4. The Lady Dust Devils began the second quarter strong, starting to gain on Fallon while keeping the Wave from another big surge. As halftime began, Dayton had advanced to 45-16.
The Lady Wave attacked hard after the break, sweeping the Lady Dust Devils and keeping them from scoring, 60-16. The final quarter was almost another sweep as Fallon’s defense kept Dayton back. The Lady Dust Devils broke through in the final moments and Kayla Celedon sank a single basket.
Elora Neep led Dayton with nine points from three treys. Kristina Mason tallied four points, two coming from free throws. Abby Sikora and Celedon contributed the final points with three and two respectively. Sikora made one trey.
