Sage Donnelly, a 16-year-old world-class kayaker, has enjoyed a busy season, qualifying for five USA teams.

In April, she was the top canoe and kayak at the U.S. Jr. Team Trials in Charlotte, N.C. She made a quick trip back to Northern Nevada where she placed first in Boatercross at the Reno River Festival, and second in freestyle kayak. She followed that up with a competition in Oklahoma City for the U.S. Senior Team Trials where she was the tops in each category she competed in. This makes her eligible to represent the USA in canoe and kayak at the Jr. World Slalom Championships in mid-July in Slovakia, and the Canoe and Kayak Slalom World Championships which are late September in France.

She also competed in the U.S. Freestyle Team Trials where she placed first in Jr. Women, and is the current Jr. Women’s World Champion. She will defend her title in San Juan, Argentina in late November.

Donnelly also competed at the Vil Mountain GoPro games where she placed third in both the extreme creek race and freestyle, despite having broken her arm a few days before the race.
