Stampede of Pioneer Coach Stage Horses (continued from Friday): Meanwhile, “Fatty” clung like a Trojan to the pole, head toward the pounding, careening coach. He managed to stick to his uncomfortable position for a mile and a half. Although gouged by the lamp irons, he stuck to the pole under the horses, and the vehicle was stopped. When the horses slackened their speed, the young lady coolly stepped out. She is a brave lassie and resumed her journey toward California. “Fatty” is all right, aside from some pretty ugly bruises. He deserves to be honored for his bravery.

Curry mine disaster: The funeral of the victims of the Curry disaster was the most imposing ever witnessed in Virginia City. All business was suspended.

Blind soloist: Miss Gussie Mast, the blind soloist, will appear with Miss Piper, the blind pianist, at the opera house. The singer was graceful and as much at ease as if she were not in total darkness. She could enjoy the perfume of the beautiful flowers given to her. She has a high soprano voice, exquisitely pure and sweet.

Georgiana Grant dies: Mrs. Grant was a native of Canada and 58 years of age. She lived in Nevada 30 years. Surviving her are her husband, A.D. Grant; three daughters, Mrs. Elspot Ligon, Mrs. Marion Bower and Sadie Grant; two sons, John W. and James Grant. Mrs. Grant was a woman much admired and loved for her many good qualities; her death will come as a blow to her friends.
