Carson City’s Tahoe Dive Center, at 444 E. William St., Suite 10, is under new ownership.
The dive shop and PADI Five Star Instructor Development Center was previously owned by Chuck Weber, who is handing over the reins to Matt Meunier and his fiancée, Tiffany Rice, from Stateline.
Originally founded as Strictly Scuba in 1993, Weber took over operations in 2011 changing the name to Tahoe Dive Center.
In April 2014, the dive shop moved from Carson Mall to its current location, one block north of the Carson City Aquatic Facility.
Meunier has 15 years of sports retail management experience, and Rice manages an upscale art gallery in Lake Tahoe.
Meunier just completed his Dive Master certification and will be completing his instructor qualification in the near future with additional instructor candidates.
He also plans to earn his captain’s license so he can take divers boat diving to preferred dives sites in Lake Tahoe.
