Carson City business leaders rally to thank first responders

On June 4, Carson City employees and first responders gathered at Fuji Park for a meal prepared for them by local restaurants, hotels and businesses. The meal was to thank our hardworking employees for their valiant efforts during the weather-related problems experienced by many in Carson City this past winter.

Altogether, we raised enough money and donations to feed more than 200 people and to contribute $1,500 to the employee recognition fund started by City Manager Nick Marano earlier this year.

This effort shows how we can come together as a community, and I am extremely grateful, not only to our city employees and first responders, but also to the following organizations for their generous contributions of both time and money:

Dick Campagni Carson City Toyota, Casino Fandango, Sierra Nevada Association of Realtors, Café at Adele’s, Supervisor Brad Bonkowski, Glen Eagles, Battle Born Social, Carson City Downtown Business Association, Lone Mountain Veterinary Hospital, Nevada Builders Alliance, Nature’s Bakery, Holiday Inn Express, Tahoe Tenderloins, Boys & Girls Clubs of Western Nevada, In Plain Sight Marketing, Miles Construction, Redco, The Union Carson City, Mills Landing, Vineburg Machining, Nevada Style, Wyndham Garden/Black Bear Diner, Carson City BBQ, 3rd and Curry St. Farmers Market, Sign Pro, Sassafras, Shoe Tree Brewing Co., and La Hacienda.

Warmest regards,

Children’s Museum thanks generous staff at U.S. Bank

The Children’s Museum of Northern Nevada would like to extend a very special thank you to U.S. Bank for its recent donation of $3,000 for free admission and raffle items from our gift shop on July 22. We had 508 visitors and raffled off two large gift baskets. This donation will help to support ongoing programs and activities at the CMNN.

We would like to pay special attention to U.S. Bank for recognition of the museum’s continued growth and success. This support helps the museum remain a viable part of Carson City. Thanks to the many generous people and organizations, such as U.S. Bank, we can continue to serve the families who visit with many fun, hands-on learning activities and exhibits throughout the year.

Thank you, U.S. Bank employees Karrel Beitler, Sara Denney, Amber Grant, Ricky Merlin, Alex Weckmann, Lisa Shores, Elise Ahnlund, Tonya Campanile, Tina Leslie, Jana Shires, Bre Lowrie, Jon Mauzy, and Brain Howard.

Lu Olsen

Director of the Children’s Museum of Northern Nevada
