First picnic: The first picnic of the public schools of Storey County will take place at Bowers Mansion. Referee: George Siler spent time in Carson and left on the evening train. He said that Carson was a regular oasis with a forest of shade trees and level streets.

How you can help: The Red Cross is the third arm of the nation and ranks with the army and navy. Of the 3,000 people in Carson a small few will able to go to the front. Joining the Red Cross only costs a dollar and helps the nation to equip herself to meet war conditions.

Dick’s Bar: Mrs. Rose Bright has sold the interest in the establishment to John Davin of Reno. She has operated the popular N. Carson Street establishment for many years.
