Man suffers non-life threatening injuries in crash at airport

The pilot of a 1973 Bellanca plane was taken to Renown Regional Medical Center after the plane crashed while attempting to take off Wednesday at the Carson City airport.

CareFlight took the man with non-life threatening injuries to Renown for evaluation.

Carson City Sheriff’s deputies were investigating after they believe the plane had a malfunction during take off.

The crash was reported about 12:50 p.m. The fixed wing single-engine plane is registered out of Kingman, Ariz.

The airport was closed and the Federal Aviation Administration reported to the scene to investigate.
