Charlene Gaworski named Carson City’s chief building official

Charlene Gaworski has been named Carson City’s chief building official. Former Chief Building Official Shawn Keating has taken a job with the Washoe County Building and Safety Department. Gaworski is an employee of Charles Abbott Associates, who provides contract building permit services to Carson City.

Gaworski has lived in Minden and worked in the building services field in the region for more than 27 years. Gaworski spent 12 years with Douglas County and 12 years with Washoe County Building and Safety. Her work with Washoe County included supervising the inspections division, plans review, and permit processing. She also managed the county’s satellite office in Incline Village. Gaworski has her certification as a Master Code Professional from the International Code Council.
