Carson City and Storey County are on the search for new adult 4-H volunteer leaders.
Community members who have a skill to share with youth ages 9-19 are asked to give Cooperative Extension a call and schedule a time for an interview.
Area youth have expressed an interest in learning basic sewing skills, gardening, and horsemanship, but other skill sets are welcome.
The Carson City/Storey County Cooperative Extension office assists with locating a meeting site, media outreach and continuing support from 4-H staff.
The mandatory volunteer training is free. Also, volunteers are required to be fingerprinted and pass a background check. Volunteers can choose either short term or long term projects.
To volunteer, call Sandy or Jim at 775-887-2252.
