Death of Richard “Dick” Roberts (of the Foreman-Roberts House): People coming from the Western edition saw a form of a man crouched in a small pile of leaves in front of the Banning home. It was discovered that it was the dead body of Dick Roberts. On his way home he was overcome with heart disease. He had complained of trouble with his heart. Dick Roberts attracted a great deal of attention by his unusual medium powers when he was younger.

Richard Lee Roberts was a native of Nevada, age 42 years, and lived at home with his parents. He leaves his parents, Annie and James Doane Roberts, two sisters, Mrs. Phillip McGrath and Miss Jo Roberts, and one brother, Thurman, to mourn his loss. (He lived in the little yellow house on the corner of Carson and Corbett streets, now a museum.)

Warren Engine: The Nevada State Museum is mentioned as a possible “resting place” for the oldest piece of motorized fire equipment in the state. The Warren Engine’s ancient fire wagon will be placed on “inactive duty.” The amount of $25,000 was approved by the Legislature to furnish Carson’s historic but effective fire department with much-needed up-to-date fire engine. “Delivery is expected sometime this year,” according to Fire Chief George Meyers.
