The story of the von Trapp family and its beloved governess is being adapted for Carson City audiences.

Wild Horse Children’s Theater is holding auditions to fill roles in “Getting to Know: The Sound of Music” on March 30 and April 1 at the Brewery Arts Center’s Performance Hall, 511 W. King St.

The production is adapted for youth performers. The content has been edited to better suit younger attention spans, with critical elements still in place, including the songs “Do-Re-Mi”, “Edelweiss,” “Sixteen Going on Seventeen” and “My Favorite Things.”

Auditioners are asked to bring a current photo, wear comfortable clothes and shoes and plan to arrive promptly to fill out forms.

Performances are weekends June 9-18. Auditions are by appointment only; contact Pat Josten at pat@wildhorsetheater.com or 775-440-1170.
