The essence of Mark Twain’s quote, “water is for fighting, whiskey is for drinking,” will be at the center of a free forum on March 22 at the Brewery Arts Center.
A forum about water, presented by Sierra Nevada Forums, will explore issues relevant to the important resource, such as quantity, quality, over-allocations, tension between development and sustainability, and legislation currently under consideration.
Moderated by Ed James, general manager of the Water Subconservancy District, the forum will feature Howard Watts of Great Basin Water Network; Steve Walker, lobbyist with Walker & Associates; and Sen. Pete Goicoechea.
Doors open at 5:30 with the forum to start at 6 p.m. in the Performance Hall, 511 W. King St.
