The Greenwave baseball team picked up its first win of the season on the final day of the Mike Bearman Memorial Tournament.
Fallon knocked off 4A opponent McQueen on Saturday at Reed before losing to Douglas in the second game of the day. Fallon opened the tournament with a loss at Carson on Thursday followed by losses to Truckee and Damonte on Friday.
Fallon will host South Tahoe in a doubleheader on Friday and a single game on Saturday. The Vikings, who were originally scheduled to host the series, are unable to play on their field due to snow.
Sophomore Hayden Strasdin was one out away from a complete game in Fallon’s 9-6 win over the Lancers. Stasdin fanned eight in 6 2/3 innings while giving up five hits as Fallon’s bats came alive behind catcher Edgar Alvarado’s two home runs and four RBIs. Alex Mendez drove in two on three hits and T.J. Fagg drove in two as well.
Carson 8, Fallon 2
A five-spot in the third inning was the difference against the Senators on Thursday.
Brenden Larsen pitched three innings and took the loss while Alex Vest came in for the next three. Larsen allowed five earned runs and Vest gave up three. Chase Irvin and Fagg each drove in one run as Fallon recorded seven hits as a team.

Mendez was the hard-luck loser in a pitching duel against the Mustangs on Friday.
The senior fireballer pitched five innings and struck out seven while giving up four hits and the lone run. Jake Wickizer pitched one inning and struck out the side. At the plate, Fallon was held to three hits total with Jack Swisher, Fagg and Strasdin each collecting one.
Truckee 8, Fallon 2
The Wolverines scored seven in the third and fourth innings to hand Fallon the loss on Friday.
Sean McCormick led the team with three hits while Mendez and Wickizer each had two. Alvarado had the team’s only RBI. Brandon Rau took the loss, pitching 2 1/3 innings, and Nick Sanches and Chase Irvin also pitched.
Douglas 13, Fallon 6
A nine-spot in the opening frame set the tone for the Tigers in the final game of the tournament.
Wickizer collected two hits, Larsen drove in two and McCormick and Swisher each had an RBI against the 4A school. Alvarado took the loss, giving up four runs, and Vest came in for 1 1/3 innings and gave up six runs. Larsen, Sanches and McCormick each pitched.
