The Carson City Firefighters Association is hosting its fifth annual Guns and Hoses charity event April 23 and 24.
The event includes a sporting clays competition and a golf tournament with all proceeds benefiting the Northern Nevada Children’s Cancer Foundation. The event is hosted by local sheriffs and firefighters.
The Sporting Clay competition will be held April 23 at the Capital City Gun Club in Carson City. Individuals or teams of up to four can participate, and single or combination players will be placed with other shooters. Cost is $125 per person. Ammunition and lunch will be provided and rental guns are available.
The Golf Tournament will be held April 24 at the Lakeridge Golf Course in Reno. Cost is $125 per person, and early registration is $100 per person. Registration and payments must be made by March 24 to qualify for the early registration. Single players or teams up to four can participate. Check in begins at 7:30 a.m. with the shotgun start at 9. Lunch will also be provided.
There will also be a raffle with gift baskets, gift certificates and more at both events.
The Northern Nevada Children’s Cancer Foundation is the only regional organization dedicated to supporting children with cancer and their families. Since 2000, the organization has helped more than 383 families and provided more than $2.3 million in direct financial assistance.
Donations or raffle prizes are also greatly appreciated for the event, if a business is participating, it will be recognized during the event and as a contributer on the event signage. The value of the item or donation is tax deductible. Donators can also sponsor a shooting stand or hole for $250 each or both for $400.
