Gov. Brian Sandoval has signed a bill he said is designed to improve services provided to Nevada’s veterans.
AB19 requires the Department of Veterans Services to report on the distribution of expenditures for veteran services, the number of veterans receiving care in the state’s veterans home, the number of veteran service officers in Nevada, employers participating in programs to hire them and the number of outreach events held the prior year.
“Understanding how we’re reaching our veterans and measuring outcomes based on that data is an important resource for the state to have in serving those who have served our country,” said Sandoval.
He said the goal is to better anticipate the needs of veterans and better align state services with those needs.
