WNC community classes

Western Nevada College is offering several interesting classes through its Community Education Division.

Yoga Drop-In Sessions

Meets, Saturdays, 9-10 a.m., beginning May 6. Be lead through a yoga practice focused on the basics followed by a short meditation. Cost: $10 per session

Daddy Do My Hair

Meets Saturday, May 6, 10 a.m.-noon. Enjoy some wonderful daddy/daughter time in this fun class! Daddies will learn how to create the perfect pony tail and simple but princess worthy braids. Cost: $40

The Robust World of Coffee

Meets Saturday, May 13, 9-11 a.m. Join us on the exciting journey of coffee from bean to cup. Tastings and pairings will be provided. Cost: $40

Social Media Basics: Pinterest

Meets Wednesday, May 24, 6-8:30 p.m. Need to find a good recipe for dinner, a new DIY project for the weekend, or just ideas on about anything you can think of? In this class students will learn all about Pinterest. Cost: $35

Child and Parent Art Class

Meets Saturdays, 9-10 a.m., beginning June 3. This class is designed for children 2-5 years old. Parent and child will create a project for Father’s Day. Cost: $25

Basic Microsoft WORD, Part 1

Meets Monday thru Thursday, 6-9 p.m., beginning June 6. This introductory WORD class will teach students the very basics of creating WORD documents and several keyboard shortcuts to expedite document processing. Cost: $75

Balloon Art 101

Meets Saturday, June 10, 9-11 a.m. Balloons are fun for people of all ages! Students will learn to create a dog, sword, twisty hat and more. Cost: $35 plus $10 supply fee payable to instructor day of class

Will Workshop

Meets Saturday, June 10, 9-10:30 a.m. Wills are a vital tool to protect your loved ones. In this class students will discuss the basic requirements to make their will effective and give them the information to create a simple Will. Cost: $60

The goal of the Community Education Division is to respond to community needs for lifelong learning opportunities. The Community Education program is self-supporting and does not receive state funds to sponsor its classes and workshops. These activities are funded entirely by student fees. Classes are offered for no credit and with no final grade assigned.
