On May 17, members of the Carson City Leisure Hour Club will experience some of the stories created by the Ageless Aviation Foundation. As a pilot and president-founder of the Foundation, Darryl Fisher will share the flight opportunities provided to countless individuals from across the United States.

The Ageless Aviation Dreams Foundation is a nonprofit dedicated to honoring seniors and veterans, with a primary focus on those living in long-term care communities. The group’s mission is to “Give Back to Those Who Have Given.”

Through the support of donors, the foundation provides Dream Flights in a Boeing-Stearman biplane, the same aircraft used to train many military aviators in the 1940s. According to the group’s website, a total of 2,276 Dream Flights have occurred in 37 states to date.

Featured in newspapers and on television stations throughout the United States, Ageless Aviation Dreams was featured on CBS News in May 2015 for the Foundation’s 1,000th Dream Flight event in Lakeville, Minn. Links to video and other media reports are available on the group’s Facebook site and on YouTube.

To attend the event, call the club’s reservation chair at 775-400-2647 no later than May 11 to make a reservation. The meeting is preceded by a buffet dinner at 6 p.m. in the Carson Nugget Capitol Ballroom. Reservations for the meeting and dinner are required.
