Churchill County School District to discuss behavior incidents, diesel tech class

The Churchill County School District Board of Trustees will meet Wednesday at 6 p.m. in the Old High School auditorium (“The Pit”).

The board will recognize 2017 school district retirees as well as the high-school students who created the emergency response and earthquake safety videos including a certificate of appreciation from the State of Nevada, Department of Education.

Items for discussion include the following:

The superintendent’s update will include a report regarding AP (advanced placement) online courses.

Educational Services will provide a report on summer school opportunities.

The board will receive information from the Churchill County Middle School regarding the number and types of behavior incidents reported, the investigation and discipline process, and the school’s practices that ensure student safety.

Approval of a high school diesel technology class.

In closed session, the board will discuss negotiations and strategies regarding the Churchill County Administrators’ Association, Churchill County Education Association, and the Nevada Classified School Employees Association.
