Actress Samantha Hoefer is coming to Fallon Nevada to perform the “The Other Mozart,” which is the true, forgotten story of Nannerl Mozart, the sister of Amadeus — a prodigy, keyboard virtuoso and composer, who performed throughout Europe with her brother, to equal acclaim, but her work and her story faded away, lost to history.

Her performance is on May 20 at 8 p.m. at the Barkley Theatre in the Oats Park Art Center, 151 E. Park St. Seats are available and for information call 775-423-1440.

“The Other Mozart” had a critically acclaimed Off-Broadway run at in New York City in 2014 and has returned to the city every year since at the Players Theatre (also presented by All for One Festival at the Cherry Lane Theater).

The play was presented in Austria, in Salzburg, at the invitation of the Mozarteum Foundation at the Mozart Wohnhaus (inside the Mozarts’ apartment) and by the Mozarteum University, as part of the now annual Symposium on Nannerl Mozart, which the play inspired into creation in Germany at the Pasinger Fabrik in Munich, and in Estonia, Tyrol and at the University of Toronto, Canada.

The play has toured extensively in the United States, in theaters and at classical music festivals to include San Diego at the Mainly Mozart Festival (selling out the 1,000-seat Balboa Theatre); in Houston, Texas, at MATCH; at the University of the South in Sewanee, Tenn.; at the North Carolina State University in Raleigh; at the University of Pittsburgh-Bradford in Pennsylvania; and Charleston, New Orleans, Alabama, New Mexico, Connecticut and more.

In September 2015 the play was presented at St. James Theater in London to critical acclaim and in October 2016 at the Mozarthaus Vienna — Wolfgang’s Viennese apartment now museum. The play continues touring internationally.
