Joy (Scott, Hurd) Trussell

Joy (Scott, Hurd) Trussell of Reno, Nevada passed away on April 29, 2017.

Joy was born in Grants Pass, Oregon on September 29, 1927, to Marble Odam and Lawrence Brown. She graduated from Tonopah High School in 1944.

She loved life and enjoyed it to the fullest. She was active in Toastmasters, Women’s Republican Party, Bishop Cowbells, Girl Scouts and PTA.

She enjoyed golf, skiing, telling a good joke and, most of all, she enjoyed people. She had a quick wit, great sense of humor and was usually the life of the party. She worked in accounting, real estate and taught dancing.

Joy was preceded in death by her parents, her sisters, Wanda Munger and Gail Moore, and her husband, Jim Trussell.

She is survived by her daughters Sharon Hurd of Boise, Idaho, Gayle Hurd of Reno, Nevada, Susie Woods of Fallon, Nevada and Bonnie and husband Ron McGhie of Post Falls, Idaho as well as 9 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

Joy was loved by many friends and family and will truly be missed.
