Two Reno-based companies, Frame Architecture and Sierra Contractors Source Plan Room, established Carson City sites in the Battle Born Business Center, a joint venture between Nevada Builders Alliance, RCM Realty Group, Handelin Law and NAI Alliance Carson City in April.

Battle Born Business Center, 1000 N. Division St., celebrated its grand opening Thursday. The event benefited the Boys & Girls Clubs of Western Nevada.

Aaron West, chief executive officer for Nevada Builders Alliance, said the center, a two-story, 15,350 square-foot Class A office building, is designed to create synergies between complementary businesses.

“We’re excited to have Sierra Contractor’s Source and Frame Architecture in the building and in Carson City,” West said. “Between all of the organizations here, we have often worked on the same projects. Our shared space allows for easy collaboration.”

West said a couple of suites are available for lease inside the Nevada Builders portion of the building.

Sierra Contractors Source

Frank Hawbolt, owner of Sierra Contractors Source, said the new Carson City plan room is the only fully automated plan room in the country, connecting contractor, suppliers, design firms and project owners throughout the construction bidding process.

“We have access to every construction job out for bid,” he said. “We’re a library for contractors. They can research jobs and plan specs before deciding to bid on a job. We’re a full reprographics service as well.”

Hawbolt said he designed the new plan room to make a bigger presence and support contractors in the region.

“When you see the USA Parkway open between Dayton and the Tahoe Reno Industrial Center, the boom is going to be huge,” he said.

Hawbolt said Sierra Contractors Source has a 5,000-square foot reprographics shop in Reno, which recently did a $100,000 equipment upgrade.

Frame Architecture, Inc.

A 1983 graduate of Carson High School, Jeff Frame, owner of Frame Architecture, Inc., said his company has multiple projects in the capital city, including the recent Click Bond renovation, Greater Nevada Credit Union Branch on Eagle Station Lane, and a 90-unit multi-family development at the Silver Oak Golf Course.

“These projects, as well as other upcoming work have fueled our search for a Carson City presence in the under-served market,” he said. “I’m excited to expand into my home town and bring more exciting, fresh and contemporary architecture that respects the history of Carson City.”

Frame said his organization is excited about the synergy within the group at Battle Born Business Center and looks forward to a long tenure in Carson City.
