Jack Sears, Sr. passed away at his home in Yuma, Arizona, on Saturday, November 4, 2017, at the age of 82.
Jack is predeceased by his father, Denver Edwin Sears; mother, Melba Grace (Lee) Herring; sister, Carol Denice (Sears) Seaton; niece Kathy (Mast) Taitano; and stepsons Ronald Eugene Morris and Lynn Leroy Morris.
Jack is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Arlene. They were married in South Lake Tahoe, Nevada, on December 31, 1968. They moved to Fallon, NV, in 1976, and lived there until 2001, when they retired to Yuma, AZ.
Jack is lovingly remembered by his children, Jack Sears, Jr. (Bonnie) of El Cajon, CA; Jennifer (Sears) Ward (Mark) of Moore, OK; his niece, Denice (Mast) Young; his stepchildren, Richard Morris (Lindy); Janet (Morris) Hedley; and Michael Morris (Jean); his grandchildren, Zacharia Sears, Crystal (Carter) Tidwell (James), Amber Sears, and Delanie Sears; great grandson, Oliver Sears; great nephew, Eric Barker; his great niece, Tiffany Barker-Moring; and numerous step-grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
Jack was born in Sacramento, CA, on September 1, 1935. After moving to Fallon, NV, he worked as a carpenter’s helper for Childers Construction at NAS Fallon; as a grounds keeper for Churchill County School District; and retired from the Kennametal Processing Plant. Jack was ordained as a Deacon at the First Southern Baptist Church, Fallon, NV.
Jack enjoyed Nevada history, visiting ghost towns, traveling in the RV, NASCAR, and trains.
A memorial service will be planned in Spring/Early Summer of 2018 at Sylvan Cemetery, Citrus Heights, CA.
