There was a large assemblage of skaters at Washoe Lake. All had a good time and no accidents occurred.
Sectarianism: The management of the Orphan Asylum (in Virginia City) propose to offer evidence to show that theirs is not a sectarian institution and therefore is entitled to aid from the State in caring for the orphans under its charge.

All sorts: The big meteoric display is due this week. According to the astronomers the air will be alive with fireworks but to date no such startling manifestation has taken place.
Telephones for Carson: There is talk of having a complete telephone system for Carson. If forty or more subscribers are secured, Carson will have a telephone system.

New employees needed: Bentley Nevada Corporation, Douglas County’s largest private employer mailed 40,000 announcements in search of people “happy in your current job” in the hope of recruiting some to Bentley’s Minden or Houston facilities — 100 openings.
