Nevada Air Guard High Rollers return from Puerto Rico

RENO — Approximately 30 Nevada Air Guardsmen and two C-130 Hercules cargo aircraft with aircrew arrived at the Air National Guard base Monday, returning from Puerto Rico. Another C-130 departed to pick up Nevada Army National Guard signal soldiers who have been operating a Joint Incident Site Communications Capability system, or JISCC, in Puerto Rico since late September.

The High Roller Airmen who returned are Security Forces and Aerial Porters from the 152nd Logistics Readiness Squadron.

The High Roller aerial porters were called up on Oct. 3, tasked to sustain a make-shift aerial port at the Puerto Rico International Airport. They worked with all military branches, including FEMA, the Federal Bureau of Intelligence and Puerto Rico’s Army and Air National Guard.

The security forces members assisted the Puerto Rico National Guard with security operations in the aftermath of the hurricane season and were in Puerto Rico for about the last three weeks.

Col. Eric Wade, commander of the 152nd Airlift Wing said, “I’m proud of the work our High Rollers did while they were deployed to help Puerto Rico get back up on its feet again. It’s always a good feeling when we can put our skills and training to use to help others — whether here at home, downrange, or wherever we’re needed. I’m grateful for all the support we’ve received from the state of Nevada, our family members and employers who support us in all we do.”
