Several events are slated as part of the Carson Mall’s Christmas Craft Fair, which runs through Dec. 24.
All ages are welcome to join the Capitol to Mall Elf Crawl on Saturday. Participants are welcome to wear their best elf costume to meet Santa at noon in front of the Capitol. The parade will carol its way to the Carson Mall where hot cocoa and cookies await. Santa photos and an elf costume contest are also included.
A slew of “reindeer games” are planned on Saturday and Sunday.
On Saturday, try your aim at Reindeer Javelin. Throw a willow “spear” at a zombie willow reindeer, starting at 1 p.m. in the mall’s parking lot.
At 10 a.m. on both Saturday and Sunday, flex your wrist at the Reindeer Toss inside the mall, or stretch your brain with Reindeer Trivia. Pick up a question sheet and challenge yourself to a holiday brainteaser. The tie-breaker will be a mystery question from Willow Bill. Another game, Pin the Willow on the Reindeer, will test participants’ abilities while blindfolded.
Sunday’s Reindeer Relay starts at 1 p.m. in the parking lot. Form two-person teams and run to the reindeer, circle it three times and run back to the starting line. Compete for Fastest Reindeer Wrapper all weekend. All participants will get a certificate.
The chance to build your own willow reindeer is offered by appointment. Call 775-842-3594 for information..
Other events this month at the mall include: Hanukkah Candle Lighting from 4:30 to 5 p.m. Dec. 12; Pony Express Day on Dec. 16 and a carol play-along for strings on Dec. 21.
