Thomas Lawrence, 86, died September 22, 2017. Tom was born January 16, 1931 in Murray, Kentucky to Nathan and Barnell Lawrence.


Tom married Anna, eloping to Mississippi on December 23, 1951. They were married over 66 years. Tom joined the Air Force and spent 26 years serving our country in multiple locations in and outside the United States. Tom retired from the Air Force in 1978 and moved to Fallon, Nevada where he worked for the city of Fallon caring for our city parks.


Tom was actively involved in church serving his Lord faithfully for many years. He was an active deacon, taught the Bible each Sunday, cared for the needs of many church members, and also the church building and landscape with his loving wife, Ann. They were an amazing team.


In addition to his faith, Tom loved to travel and explore new places. He was an impressive fast pitch softball pitcher in his younger days and loved to bowl, play golf, and camp. He has one “hole in one” to his credit made in Othello, Washington.


Tom will be remembered for his positive outlook on life, seldom complaining, and always looking on the bright side of life. His smile was enduring and his laughter sincere and infectious.


Tom was preceded in death by his brother Joe Lawrence and sister LouAnn McCallon.


Tom is survived by his wife Anna, and sons and daughter in laws Jim and Tina Lawrence of Woodburn, Oregon; Mike and Gwen Lawrence of Redwater, Texas; daughter and son in law Tammy and Garry Crowley of Fallon, Nevada; nine grandchildren and twenty-four great grandchildren.


A memorial service is planned for Wednesday, September 27, 2017 at Smith’s Funeral Home in Fallon, NV starting at 1:00 pm with graveside service to follow at the Fallon Cemetery at about 1:30 pm.


A reception immediately following the graveside service will be hosted by First Southern Baptist Church, 900 S. Taylor St. Fallon, NV 89406
