The Greenwave track and field team ventured over the Sierra into Rocklin to compete against California – and a few Nevada – schools on Saturday, placing eighth in the boys varsity and fourth in the girls frosh/soph divisions.
Fallon scored 20 points in the boys varsity for eighth while the girls frosh/soph team had 33 in its fourth-place finish at the Thunder Invitational. Fallon’s frosh/soph boys team had only one competitor place and the girls varsity finished 24th with five points with most of the team competing in the frosh/soph division.
Fallon competes in the Northwest Invite at McQueen on Saturday before hosting the Conclave of Awesomeness on April 18 for its final home meet of the year.
Drake Copley took sixth in the 100 meters in 11.80 seconds while Colton Peterson finished fifth in the 200 in 23.55. Copley followed in sixth in 23.55 and Broder Thurston was 11th in 23.85. Peterson took eighth in the 400 in 53.42, a personal best, and J.R. Demillo also recorded a personal best in the 800 in 2:09.62 for 19th. Reid Clyburn finished seventh in the 300 hurdles in 42.73.
Copley, Clyburn, Thurston and Peterson took second in the 4x100 in 44.17 and the team of Copley, Clyburn, Peterson and Trevor East finished second in the 4x400 in 3:40.22.
Jase Kroll was the only one to score in the shot put and discus events, achieving personal bests in both. He scored 21 feet, 6 inches in the shot put and 58-11 in the discus.
In the high jump, Justin Cathey placed seventh at 5-6 followed by Angela Vann at 5-2 for 14th. Thurston led the jumpers in the pit with a 17-2 in the long for 20th and 38-flat for 14th in the triple.
For the girls varsity, Shelby Hickox finished 13th in both the 100 and 300 hurdle events with times of 19.38 and 53.77. Allie Lister took 19th in the 300 in 56.84. The 4x100 team of Emily Evett, Sierra Hickox, Brynlee Shults and Lister finished ninth in 56.79.
In the field, Chelsea Clevenger led the team in shot put with a throw of 23-8 for 27th and released a 58-flat for 34th in the discus. Lister took fourth in the pole vault at 8-6.
Shults led the team in long jump with a season-best 15-3 for fifth while Sierra Hickox was eighth in the triple at 31-11.75, a season best. Shults followed in 10th at 30-9.25 and Lister was 12th at 30-5.5.
Frosh/Soph
Kyndal Collins took second in the 100 and fourth in the 200 with times of 13.44 and 27.81. Vera Vaz led the team in the 400 with a personal-best 1:19.44 for 21st and Makayle Mathisen was third in the 1600 in 5:43.68 and 13th in the 800 in 2:42.44 with both times being personal bests. Savannah Robinson was 18th in the 800 in 2:45.53, a season best. Kyle Dochtermann finished 16th in the 100 hurdles in 20.40.
Vaz, Mathisen, Dochtermann and Hailey Guerrero finished sixth in the 4x400 relay in 4:52.63, and the 4x100 team of Collins, Dochtermann, Aisha Sharron and Tiffany Sorensen was seventh in 57.43.
Sorensen led Fallon in the field events, placing second in the discus at 104-1, a personal best, and third in the shot put at 27-3.5. Robinson led in the high jump at 4 feet for 15th and Dochtermann finished 18th in the long jump at 11-10.
For the boys, Caden Bowman scored a personal-best 25.56 to finish 16th in the 200 and William Dick also ran a personal-best 59.59 to finish 16th in the 400. Bryan Ugalde finished 24th in the 800 in 2:22.36 to lead Fallon and Dick was 27th in the 1600 with a personal-best 5:13.17.
Morgan Lawry ran a personal-best 48.44 to take 11th in the 300 hurdles and posted a 20.62 to finish 15th in the 110 hurdles. Lawry also finished sixth in the triple jump with a personal-best 34-11 and 15th in the long jump at 15-3.
The 4x400 relay team of Daniel Tapia, Zeke Washington, Logan Strong and Dick finished eighth in 4:02.57.
Dionisio Lopez led the team in shot put with a 26-8 for 30th, followed by Nathan Doyle at 24-11.5 for 32nd. Mason Adams, 20-2.75, and Danny Mun, 17-8.5, finished 35th and 36th. Throws for Doyle, Adams and Mun were personal bests. Adams finished 34th in the discus at 43-10 followed by Mun’s personal best of 33-2 for 35th.
Caden Bowman finished eighth in the triple jump at 34-3 and 15th in the long at 15-3. Kayden Orong was 13th in the triple jump at 29 feet.
