The Nevada Division of Environmental Protection has $50,000 in grant funding for recycling projects.
The money comes from the Solid Waste Management Account that gets a dollar for every car tire sold in the state.
The money will be awarded for projects that increase recycling, public awareness of the importance of conserving natural resources and for the reduction and reuse of solid waste. Municipalities, nonprofit groups, schools and other public institutions are eligible to apply.
