June 2, 1937 ~ July 16, 2018
Richard Terry Moore, 81, of Carson City, Nevada, passed away on July 16, 2018 at Brookdale-Reno in Reno, Nevada.
Richard was born in San Francisco, California on June 2, 1937. He graduated from Santa Monica High School and attended UCLA graduating with a degree in Finance. He obtained his Masters
Degree in Hospital Administration through the Univesity of Iowa. While finishing his Masters Degree at UC Medical Center in San Francisco he met Barbara Louise Kaefer, an RN, practicing at the same location. Richard and Barbara were married on June 6, 1964. They were married for 54 years. Richard worked throughout his career as a Hospital Administrator in California, Montana and Oregon. Barbara and Richard retired to Carson City in 2000.
Richard was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Carson City. His interests were sports and politics. He was one of the original members of the Carson City Men’s Club. He was also an active member of the Republican Party and served twice as a state delegate. He played tennis in the Cason City tennis program and was an avid fan of the UCLA Bruins.
He is survived by his wife Barbara; sons Richard W. Moore (Ruth) and Scott A. Moore (Brenda); five grandchildren, Sarah, Allison, Kristi, Isaac and Samuel; brother Stephen Moore (Sandra); sister Susan Anderson (Bruce); and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the First United Methodist Church, 212 N. Division St. in Carson City on October 6th. Further details will be communicated at a later date.
