May 20, 1940 - August 7, 2018 Judith Ann Greenspan, age 78, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 7, 2018, at Carson Tahoe Regional Medical Center, after a long illness. Graveside services were conducted by Rabbi Evon Yakar of Temple Bat Yam at Eastside Memorial Park in Minden. Judy was born on May 20, 1940, in New York City to Dr. Arthur and Hilda Tunick. She was a graduate of Dwight Morrow High School in Englewood, New Jersey, and Smith College in Northampton, Massachusetts. Her marriage to Norman Greenspan lasted over 48 years and together they operated Greenspan’s Glatt Kosher Meats & Poultry (a family business) in Englewood, New Jersey. Since 2009 Judy and Norman have operated Lamp Doctor of Carson City and their restorations can be seen at Adele’s Restaurant and the Bliss Mansion, as well as in many homes in Northern Nevada. They have been dedicated members of Temple Bat Yam in South Lake Tahoe, forming many deep and meaningful relationships with members of the congregation. Judy is survived and will be greatly missed by her husband Norman; her brother Richard Tunick and his wife Ellen; Judy’s son Peter de Graaff and his wife Jodi and their three children, Cary, Gianna, and Shayna. Other survivors include five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces. Judy’s devotion to her husband, family, and friends will be missed as will her smile, laughter, and passionate joy for life and cooking. While her work here is done, Judy is now busy reuniting with loved ones she hasn’t seen in a long time. Donations in her memory can be made to Temple Bat Yam in South Lake Tahoe, CA.
