Pirates of Reno are taking over McFadden Plaza on Sept. 8.
Pirates on the Plaza, a family-friendly pirate-themed event, will include face painting, pirates games, and other activities from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
A “best dressed pirate” costume contest will be at 12:30 p.m.
The event is a fundraiser to benefit the homeless.
The Disney film “Treasure Island,” from 1950, will be screened from 8 to 9:30 p.m.
