Sierra Place Senior Living in Carson City hosting free events

Sierra Place Senior Living, 1111 W. College Parkway in Carson City, is hosting the following free events, all of which are open to the public:

Kopasetic — 3 p.m. Sept. 9. Kopasetic will play music from the Great American Songbook and other genres like Dixieland, jazz, R&B, bluegrass, country, folk and rock-n-roll.

True Tales from Truckee by Mark McLaughlin — 10 a.m. Sept. 11. The presentation will describe characters and events that shaped the pioneer railroad community.

Bob Lewis’s Bridge Club — 1:30-3:30 p.m. Sept. 13. Join Bob Lewis and others for a day of bridge. Partners and singles are encouraged to attend. Sign up at the front desk by noon on Sept. 12.

The Sierra Sweethearts — 6:30 p.m. Sept. 17. The band plays bluegrass, Americana, old time, folk, pop, country and doo-wop.

Paradise Therapy Pool Presentation by Starr Nixdorf — 3:30 p.m. Sept. 19. Nixdorf will talk about the benefits of utilizing a therapy pool as well as prices and transportation. She’ll give a demonstration of pool equipment and discuss the multitude of aqua classes offered, as well as open swim times and which days and times are the best (and warmest) for lap swimming.

The events will take place on the third floor.
