DAYTON — Dayton played stout defense in holding Elijah Jackson to just 12 points in a 53-49 victory over Fallon in a 3A boys game Friday night.

The Dust Devils had a nine-point lead after three quarters, and actually got it up to 11 before Fallon rallied.

Trevor Burrows scored 17 points, pulled down 10 rebounds and had five assists. Chase Peterson finished with 11 points as did Josh Pasasouk. Lance Peterson chipped in eight points.


Falcons post easy win

Sierra Lutheran outscored Pyramid Lake 22-6 in the second half to grab a 46-26 win Friday night in a 1A boys game.

Kyman Berger scored 11 points, Zane Warkentin scored nine points, and Thomas Mellum added eight. Warkentin and Berger added three assists apiece. Berger was the top rebounder with 10.

“I thought we played some very good team defense tonight,” SLHS coach Ben Walther said. “It really set the tone for us. Pyramid has some very good shooters, and we were able to keep them to one shot on possessions.”

Greenwave stops Dayton

DAYTON — Fallon rolled to a 38-15 lead at the half en route to a 60-27 win over the Dust Devils on Friday night in a Northern 3A game.

The Dust Devils had a tough time against the Fallon press, and they managed to get up just 15 shots in the first half.

“We came out strong in the second half but they are such a good, solid team,” Dayton coach Kelly Frantz said. “I thought my bench was awesome tonight and didn’t give up at all when they went into the game.”

Tamia Powell scored 14 points, grabbed four rebounds and registered five steals. Abby Sikora added seven points and Cassie Dickenson added four points and four rebounds.


Falcons edge Pyramid Lake

Sierra Lutheran built up a 14-point first-half lead and held on for a 26-20 win over Pyramid Lake in a 1A game on Friday night.

Ruth Boogman led SLHS with 10 points and Kati Boogman added eight. Aleyna Gibson pulled down 13 rebounds.

“Great start, but we had a lull in the second half,” SLHS coach Michael Nelson said. “Pyramid played tough and made us earn the game.”
