The following people were booked into the Carson City Jail. All are considered innocent until proven guilty in court. THURSDAY • At 11:30 a.m., Montana Munday, 29, was arrested on suspicion of one felony count of escape from prison and one gross misdemeanor count of conspiracy to commit escape. He was held without bail.

Despite cold conditions, hundreds gathered in Carson City on Saturday for the March for Our Lives. Nationally, the movement was about anti-violence and called for stricter gun regulations. In Carson City, the message was no different.

One vehicle in Carson City road rage incident recovered

The Carson City Sheriff’s Office wants to thank the community for their assistance in a recent assault with a deadly weapon case. On March 13, two vehicles were involved in a shooting near the 200 block of Musser Street in an apparent road rage incident. Both vehicles had fled the scene at the time of the shooting.

Roger Diez: Harvick’s road rage incident in NASCAR

Kevin Harvick looked like a sure prospect to win his fourth race in a row last Sunday until road rage got the best of him. Both Jeff Gordon and Darrell Waltrip, who should know, judged Harvick wanted to teach Kyle Larson a lesson about racing him hard, but the lesson backfired with Harvick in the wall and finishing 36th, nine laps down. Rocky Boice Jr., 39, appeared in federal court Thursday to face charges of assault and kidnapping that could land him in prison for life. He is charged with kidnapping, use of a firearm during a crime of violence and as a felon in possession of a firearm along with two counts of assault with a deadly weapon. The kidnapping charge carries a statutory life sentence under federal guidelines.

The Carson City Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s assistance in locating two vehicles involved in an unknown dispute. On March 13 at 5:30 p.m., deputies were dispatched to the 200 block of East Musser Street for a report of a road rage incident with shots fired. Upon arrival, deputies located two areas of broken glass and evidence showing more than one round was discharged during the incident.

Filing for the 2018 political season began with a horse race Monday to the Churchill County Clerk/Treasurer’s office. Before filing opened for the next two weeks, five candidates jockeyed in line to be the first to file. Few coaches in the history of Nevada Wolf Pack men’s basketball finish a job as well as Eric Musselman. In Musselman’s first year at Nevada in 2015-16, he immediately changed the culture and the direction of the program, winning the College Basketball Invitational.

Gardnerville man faces 6 felony counts in Carson Lanes burglary

Lee Michael Lawson, 25, of Gardnerville was arrested February 26 on a list of six felony counts and one misdemeanor involving an alleged burglary at Carson Lanes on Snyder. Carson Lanes staff reported surveillance video showed the suspect hiding inside the business at closing time on February 24. He’s accused of taking corporate credit cards, black check stock and a laptop as well as the keys to the building.

The longest-serving inmates in Nevada prisons

Until Feb. 2, Raymond Wallace Shuman was in the Nevada prison system longer than any of the more than 13,000 other living inmates. He was originally imprisoned in June 1958 for murdering a truck driver in Mineral County. He was serving a life sentence for that when, in August 1973, he killed another inmate, Ruben Bejarno, by dousing him with paintbrush cleaner and setting him on fire. Bejarno died three days later of third degree burns.
