Carson High sophomore golfer Karen Beglin is halfway to a state title.
Beglin leads the individual standings after the first round of the State 4A Girl Golf Championships on Monday at Dayton Valley Golf Club. Beglin shot a 1-over-par 73 and leads Faith Lutheran’s Gracie Olkowski, who shot a 74, by one stroke.
Beglin’s sister, CHS senior Jill Beglin, also had a solid round on Monday as she fired a 78 and is tied for 11th.
The second and final round will be held on Tuesday. Jill Beglin will tee off at 11:52 a.m. while Karen Beglin will teee off at 12:16 p.m.
