Carson City Sheriff’s log: Nude man tries to not stay so hot

The following people were booked into the Carson City Jail. All are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.

FRIDAY

At 8:45 a.m., an 18-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of domestic battery 1st offense after deputies were called to an address on Hot Springs Road. A witness said he saw the defendant and victim yelling at each other and the defendant throw a rock at her vehicle before grabbing her around the neck and waist and lifting her off the ground. A search at the jail revealed pills identified as a generic Xanax which requires a prescription. He was also arrested on suspicion of possession of a dangerous drug and held in lieu of $6,500 bail.

At 12:06 p.m., Travis Babbitt, 22, was arrested after a deputy reported seeing him skateboard into traffic at Robinson and Plaza, forcing one car to speed up and another to hit the brakes to avoid hitting him. After he was stopped, dispatch reported a felony warrant on suspicion of grand larceny of a firearm issued in Douglas County. He was ordered held without bail.

At 12:38 p.m., a 39-year-old was arrested after deputies responded to the Taco Bell on North Carson Street for a report of an unwanted female refusing to leave and harassing customers. After a background check, she was arrested on suspicion as an ex-felon failing to register and disorderly conduct. Bail was set at $300.

At 5:31 p.m., an 18-year-old woman and a 24-year-old man were arrested on suspicion of obstructing and resisting after deputies went to an address on Banjo Circle to help Washoe Juvenile Probation officers who were seeking two juvenile parole violators. Those two were turned over to Washoe officers. The two arrestees were accused of obstructing the search for the two. She was held in lieu of $300 bail. His total bail was $1,255 because he also had a failure to appear warrant issued in Carson City.

At 11:28 p.m., William Zackery, 30, of Gardnerville, was arrested on suspicion of destruction of property after deputies were called to the Regional Medical Center for a report of a violent patient. The arrest report says he was brought by a Douglas County ambulance for a “psychotic emergency” and became violent when he was at the hospital. He was arrested on suspicion of a felony for damage to a door and a computer monitor. Bail was set at $5,000.

SUNDAY

At 10:30 a.m., a 35-year-old man was arrested on a failure to appear warrant after deputies conducted a traffic stop in north Carson City. His bail was set at $740.

At 11:28 a.m., Charles Vickers, 21, and April Faave, 34, were arrested after two callers reported a dispute on East Nye Lane, one saying the male involved was smoking meth. A search of their vehicle revealed a small quantity of meth and a pipe. Each was arrested on suspicion of possession of meth and paraphernalia and held in lieu of $3,500 bail.

At 1:20 p.m., a 38-year-old woman was arrested on a warrant on suspicion of domestic battery 1st offense at an apartment on Carson Meadows. Her bail was set at $3,000.

At 3:54 p.m., a 26-year-old Reno man was arrested on suspicion of indecent exposure after deputies were called to the Harbor Freight store on a report of a naked man in a car outside the building. The arrest report says he was naked when the deputy arrived and told him he was sleeping naked because it was hot. Bail was set at $2,500.

At 5:13 p.m., Michael Menke, Jr., was arrested on suspicion of residential burglary after the arrest report says he admitted taking two hover boards from a home on Roop Street. He was also arrested on suspicion of violating suspended sentence conditions and held in lieu of $23,000 bail.

MONDAY

At 12:57 a.m., Floyd Ward, 29, of Carson City was arrested at Carson and Bath streets on a Sacramento County felony warrant calling for a $250,000 bail. The offense wasn’t listed in the report.

At 3:45 a.m., a 32-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of domestic battery 1st offense after deputies responded to an address on South Carson Meadows. The arrest report says they could hear a woman screaming as they approached. When they contacted the couple, the report says the victim had injuries to his face and arm and was bleeding. She denied anything happened but he told officer, “I ain’t no rat but it’s pretty obvious how this happened.” She was held in lieu of $3,000 bail.
