Las Vegas shooting victims have two weeks to file claims

Victims of the Oct. 1 massacre at the Route 91 Harvest Festival have just two weeks to file a claim with the Nevada Victims of Crime program.

The deadline is one year after the shooting and Gov. Brian Sandoval pointed out Oct. 1 this year is rapidly approaching.

“Even if someone is not sure they will ever seek services as a result of 1 October, it is important to apply so that, should they decide later to seek care, they will qualify for eligible program benefits,” he said.

Those benefits include money to pay for out of pocket expenses including medical bills, counseling, co-pays and are available even if the victim lives outside of Nevada and wasn’t physically injured in the shooting.

Applications are available at www.VegasStrongRC.org.

Completed, signed applications should be submitted to the Victims of Crime program at Nevada VOCP, P.O. Box 94525, Las Vegas 89193.
