RENO — Nevada baseball coach T.J. Bruce announced the Wolf Pack’s 2019 schedule on Tuesday.
The defending Mountain West regular season champions will host the defending College World Series champion Oregon State Beavers at Don Weir Field at Peccole Park for a two-game series in April.
Carson High graduate Nate Yeskie is Oregon State’s pitching coach.
Nevada will play its first game and series at Don Weir Field at Peccole Park March 15-17 when it welcomes MW opponent New Mexico.
Intrastate rival UNLV will welcome Nevada on March 22-24 for the first battle of the season between the two schools. The Rebels will come to Reno on April 18-20.
Beginning March 26, the Pack will begin its longest homestand of the season. Nevada will begin with a midweek contest against San Francisco, and then face MW foe Air Force on March 29-31. Sandwiched within the homestand will be an exhibition with the Reno Aces before a Wednesday contest against Sacramento State and the stand concludes with a home series against SDSU on April 5-7.
After falling to the Beavers twice last season on the road, both in 11 innings, the Pack will host the 2018 national champions on April 22-23. OSU finished 55-12-1 last season, wrapping up the year taking two out of three games from Arkansas to claim its third College World Series title.
Nevada’s final two series of the year will be at home against Fresno State on May 3-5 and at San Jose State on May 10-12.
The regular season for the Pack will end at home on Tuesday, May 14 against Pacific. Nevada will have a bye week before the Mountain West Championships begin on May 22.
