The Greenhouse Project hosts its annual Early Spring Plant Sale on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., offering an array of perennial and annual varieties ready to go into your garden.
The sale takes place at Green Central, the name for TGP’s original site on Carson High School’s campus. This designation was made to distinguish between that site and The Foothill Garden, located on Carson Tahoe Regional Medical Center’s campus.
Full Circle Compost, The Monarch Society and others will be on hand creating a one-stop shopping experience for all your planting needs. Vendors offer a wealth of information regarding their respective field, and can advise and answer questions related to health soil practices and creating welcoming habitat for not only Monarch butterflies, which are endangered, but for other pollinators, too.
A variety of early season plants, including herbs, squash, leafy greens, perennial flowers, tomatoes and more will be offered.
Be sure to save the date for TGP’s Mother’s Day Plant Sale on Friday, May 10, from 2:30 to 5 p.m. and Saturday, May 11, from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Plants sold on these dates will be ideal for summer growing.
All proceeds continue TGP’s work of providing agriculture education to students, while providing fresh produce to the community’s food insecure.
Green Central is located at 1111 N. Saliman Road, off East Robinson Street, behind Carson High School. Call 775-600-9530 for information.
