Carson High boys golf third in standings

The Carson High boys golf team remained in third place in the overall Sierra League standings after a fourth place finish at the third Sierra League Tournament of the year at Reno’s Sierra Sage on Wednesday.

Galena won the event with a 289 and was followed by Manogue (327), Douglas (343) and CHS (355). In the overall league standings, Galena is in first, Manogue is in second, CHS third and Douglas fourth.

Zander Smokey and Lukas Taggart both had outstanding rounds for the Senators on Wednesday. Smokey finished sixth with a 78 and Taggart was ninth after shooting an 83.

Also for Carson, Daniel Escalante shot a 95, Brandon Engels fired a 99 and Dante DeLuca added a 109.
