Gov. Steve Sisolak said Friday 10 new schools have now met the requirements to be designated as a Governor’s STEM school.
Three of the schools are in western Nevada including Oasis Academy in Fallon.
The other two are Carson Montessori and Smithridge Elementary in Reno.
The remaining schools are all in Southern Nevada except for Carlin Combined School in Carlin.
“With more and more innovative, high-tech companies doing business in Nevada, STEM education is more important than ever,” said Sisolak. “These 10 schools embody the characteristics and practices of excellent STEM education that our students need to be prepared for careers and for life and I am proud to welcome them as the newest Governor’s STEM Schools.”
