RENO — The 25-2 University of Nevada men’s basketball team is ranked No. 12 in the Associated Press poll and No. 13 in the USA Today Coaches poll released on Monday.
Nevada fell from No. 6 in the rankings after a 65-57 loss at San Diego State last week. The Wolf Pack rebounded to beat Fresno State, 74-68, at home on Saturday.
The Wolf Pack has appeared in the last 22 polls dating back to last season. Nevada was No. 6 in both polls last week and isn’t in the top 10 for the first time this season.
The Pack’s highest ranking of the season was No. 5 on Nov. 26 in the AP poll and No. 5 on Dec. 31 in the USA Today Coaches poll. Both are the highest rankings in school history.
Nevada (25-2, 12-2 MW) hosts intrastate rival UNLV (15-12, 9-6 MW) on Wednesday at 8 p.m. at Lawlor Events Center. The Pack has won its last 15 home games dating back to last season. The 25-2 record after 27 games is the best in school history.
