Carson City Pop Warner varsity cheerleaders have qualified to attend the National JAMZ Youth Championship in Las Vegas, Jan. 25-27. They’re getting the opportunity to compete against cheer squads from around the nation in hopes to bring home a national title. The girls have held bake sales at local grocery stores, pizza nights, and sold discount cards throughout the season.

Team members are: Caydence Miguel, Emily Oswald, Faith Key, Haley Martin, Isabella Planeta, Jordyn Nevarez, Kailey Tierney, Keela Paskins, Kenadie Watson, Kiana Hillis, Mariah Evans and head coach Cassie Watson. It’s the first time in the organization’s history a cheerleading team has qualified for nationals.

The team will hold a fundraising Spaghetti Feed from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Saturday at the Plaza Hotel Conference Center. Tickets are $20, which include the spaghetti dinner, silent auction, raffle prizes, 50/50 raffle and more. Tickets can be purchased at the door or from any varsity cheerleader.
