Man afraid of spiders jailed, Carson City Sheriff’s Office says

The following people were booked into the Carson City Jail. All are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.

FRIDAY

At 2:20 p.m., a man was arrested at the Carson Nugget Inn after an employee reported he first kicked the door of a unit and then threw an object through the window, breaking it. He was arrested on suspicion of destruction of property and bail was set at $2,500.

At 8:47 p.m., Heather Broadway, 45, was arrested after a traffic stop at William and North Carson streets for not having a license plate. A drug dog alerted to the presence of pharmaceuticals in the vehicle and a search revealed a small quantity of meth and several prescription pills in a bottle with an unreadable label. She was arrested on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance and paraphernalia and possession of prescription drugs without a prescription as well DUI-first offense drugs. Bail was set at $7,000.

SATURDAY

At 12:05 p.m., a 19-year-old construction worker was arrested after deputies responded to the Prison Hill area for a report of gunshots. The arrest report states there were three subjects target shooting. Two were released with a warning but the third was arrested after allegedly giving deputies the wrong name. He was arrested on a hold ordered by Parole and Probation and held without bail.

At 3:12 p.m., a 34-year-old man was arrested on a warrant on suspicion of domestic battery after a traffic stop at Fleischmann and Curry streets. His bail was set at $3,000.

At 8:18 p.m., a 24-year-old man was arrested after deputies were called to the area of 627 Hot Springs on a report of a man standing outside acting strangely. After he told deputies he was afraid to go back in his apartment because of spiders there, deputies checked the apartment and, instead found residue of a white powdery substance on the dining room table. After the defendant was cleared medically by Carson Tahoe Hospital staff, he was arrested on suspicion of gross misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance and paraphernalia. Bail was set at $3,500.

At 8:54 p.m., Kyle Brazil, 22, was arrested on suspicion of two felony warrants after a traffic stop at Koontz Lane and Carson Street. The warrants were on suspicion of burglary and violation of bail conditions. He was held without bail.

MONDAY

At 7:40 p.m., three people were arrested on suspicion of felony burglary after deputies were dispatched to Kohl’s on a report of a woman concealing clothing items under her shirt and attempting to leave the store. The items were valued at $671.97. The arrest report states she had a no-bail Parole and Probation warrant for her arrest.

Jessica Marquez, 25, was reported to have gloves, socks and other materials on per person. Loss prevention officers also reported they were watching a male who they said removed a security tag from a drone and concealed the item under his jacket. He was identified as Jesse Dahneke, 41. The drone was valued at $123.99. The arrest report says they also found several magnets that can be used to neutralize security tabs on store products and dispatch advised that his criminal history showed three previous felony arrests on suspicion of burglary.

Deputies also made contact with Cybele Ornelas, 55, at the store entrance and discovered “numerous cosmetic items” in her purse along with wire cutters the report says are used to remove security tags. The total value of the items was $222.

Marquez was arrested on suspicion of felony burglary in addition to the P&P hold and held without bail.

Dahneke and Ornelas were both arrested on suspicion of burglary and possession of burglary tools and held on $27,500 bail.
