The Carson City Sheriff’s Office is looking for people interested in becoming volunteers.
Volunteer Coordinator Ken Smith said they need people interested in Citizen’s Patrol, administrative support, front counter reception and the jail visitation program. He said interested individuals are invited to schedule a ride-along or visit with a volunteer.
The office trains all volunteers interested in helping from four to eight hours a week.
To qualify, volunteers need a valid Nevada driver’s license and must pass a background check, have no felony arrests and the ability to work well with others.
Anyone interested can come to the sheriff’s office at 911 E. Musser or contact Smith at 887-2020 or 283-7810.
