Several major building permits are under review in Carson City.
The new Nissan auto dealer has submitted a building permit for a $4 million dealership at 2750 S. Carson St., where the Craft Market store was once located.
In November 2017, the Board of Supervisors approved an incentive package for the dealer consisting of a 30 percent rebate its sales tax as soon as it employs 30 or more full-time employees. The rebate maxes out at $3 million.
The dealership is owned by Chris Russell, owner of three Nissan dealerships in Idaho and another in Washington.
A Jacksons food store is planned at 1102. N. Carson St., on the northwest corner of Carson and William streets where a Chevron gas station was recently shuttered. The building permit is valued at $1.4 million. Jacksons has locations throughout the West, including a store at 1615 E. 5th St.
A building permit is under review for a 62-unit apartment complex at 680 Hot Springs Road. The permit valuation is $12.6 million.
